- Catalogue Description: Basket, silver. Ovid-form, dished, hand-wrought basket sits on slightly flaring foot; shaped handle is concave at arch and trefoil in shape at juncture with basket. Near handle juncture, basket has scalloped edge. At 2:00, 4:00, 8:00 and 10:00, leaves are applied to basket rim. The applied, central vein of these leaves becomes a stem and continues along the edge to form the rim on the ends of the basket. Hammered surface. CONDITION: Considerable wear and scratching to all surfaces, with minor pitting and place loss throughout, two leaves apparently repaired where leaf meets edge of bowl.
